32 Verses To Fight Fear and Anxiety

If you are like me and have a “Type A” personality, then you probably know what it’s like to deal with anxiety and fear over the circumstances revolving our lives.

The devil uses our flaws such as this one, to break us down even farther. The more we are filled with anxiety, the less we are filled with God’s word and spirit.

I’m a planner and I like to “try” and keep things organized. HoweverI forget to hand that anxiety and fear over to God. I remind myself often that at the end of the day, no matter how great or terrible I am at planning, HIS WILL, WILL BE DONE. He is in control of my life, and I have to learn to turn some things over to him and trust my own belief that he will fight for me.

Here are 32 Bible Verses to help Fight Fear and Anxiety and to Remind You that God is Always in Control

32 Verses To Help You Fight Fear and Anxiety at One Well Momma

Luke 12:22-26
“Do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear.  Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.  Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn, yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!  Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?  Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?”

Psalm 27:1

“The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?”

Psalm 55:22

“Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.”

Deuteronomy 31:6
“Be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Isaiah 41:13-14

Psalm 46:1
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”

Psalm 118:6-7

Proverbs 29:25

“Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.”

Mark 4:39-40
“He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.  He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”

Psalm 34:7
“The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.”

1 Peter 3:14

Psalm 56:3
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”

Philippians 4:6-7
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

John 14:27
“Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid.”

2 Timothy 1:7
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

1 John 4:18
“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”

Psalm 94:19

Isaiah 43:1

Joshua 1:9

Romans 8:38-39
“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.”

Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord your God is in your midst, A victorious warrior. He will exult over you with joy, He will be quiet in His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.”

Psalm 91:1-16
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”…He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.  You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.  A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you…For he will command his angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways…“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.  He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him…”

The worst thing in life to my perception is ” ignorance ” I thank Jehovah God that comes into my life to push me to come to search for the different between anxiety and pride. Through the searched, I then found myself with this powerful guidelines. I’m so happy and thankful to the author of the book post. I believe, I’ll leave everything in God hands. I’m very grateful. Keep exceedingly gracious.

Thank you for posting this! I have been struggling with fear and anxiety, mostly concerning my safety and if people see me as a good person as well. I am a christian, and God has been so faithful to me and has helped me overcome a lot of fear and anxiety through prayer and continued surrender to Him. The more I decide to face my fears and decide to fear Him and trust in Him, and believe that He will protect me and lead me, the less I worry about what people think and the less I fear overall. I still struggle, but I am finding out God will never leave me and He is much bigger and more in control than I can ever imagine. These scriptures have been very encouraging. Thank you.

Thank you so much for this. I read these and just cried. My dog had a seizure tonight and I was so overcome with fear and anxiety I couldn’t really help him. I had to go to the ER last week because I was sick and blood pressure was high and I had a fever. But it’s like I go into fight or flight mode quickly. I immediately am terrified that this is the end. Even tho I know that God has got me. I need to remember to calm down and let Him carry me.

First…forgive that ye might be forgiven. Then you won’t feel fear because you fear only the one who loves you BEST. If it’s only You and Jesus against the world, Be Happy!!!! He’s Already Overcome the World. He won’t ever leave you and will carry you when the walk is to much. A season for everything.💝

Lately, I have had so much fear and anxiety about dying. So much so that it causes physical pain in my chest. I am a believer, but for so reason, I’ve always felt a fear of the “unknown.” I prayed about these feelings many times and asked God for many signs, and boy did he send a couple. I was recently on the phone with my sister, and she was telling me about how she felt similar fears. She consulted her pastor, and she sent her this article. She sent it to me, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you❤️

I lost 2 husband’s from cancer . I’ve always been afraid of death and ghost as a kid. When I started reading God’s Word I call Love Letter from heaven all those negative forces left. Its been 31 years since I received Jesus as Lord of my life. What a blessing as He made me calm in His presence. With this pandemic I see a lot of folks isolated from families and friends due to fear. It’s saddening that not many are aware that Jesus is ready to console but most are distant from Him. I open my home for Bible Study and invite families and friends but only one or two are responding. I pray parents and teachers will brace themselves up and make a difference in the next generation’s life.

I have spent most of my 50 years living in fear & I’m now at a stage where I feel my fear is controlling me. I’ve suffered depression & PTSD for as long as i can remember which has now resulted with a diagnosis of anxiety. Every day feels like a constant battle. I’m forever telling my husband to trust in The Lord & have Faith. It’s so easy to say the words too others, not so easy too, practice what I preach. Would U be able to post some literature through the post on yellow A3 paper PLEASE? I have Dyslexia & find it easier to read on paper than on the phone. My friend has kindly offered to transfer this off a written document. My Address is 35 Atholl Close, B32 3NH

Choe, I have been the same way. Even as a child I was fearful, about a few things. I have read some of the Bible and read about stress and fears and to give them to God. But when I get stressed usually about my health I just cry and say Jesus help me. Well he showed me in reading that he is there to help. I have to open up the Bible and read those many scriptures. But…. I dont press in to over come. I HAVE HAD BACK INJURIES in the last seven years and other physical things that stressed me horribly. Before that I was not hardly stressed at all. Now I just went on Lexapro to help. wrote all the verses that were on this site and I am gonna fight th good fight to be healed of this. I am 68. luv

I love the scriptures and psalms you have quoted. The name, One Well Mama, I now realise works on two levels. It can mean one mama who is healed. Or it can mean that you know there is ONLY one “well” of life, that being through God. And is probably both! Very astute! I was given a beautiful king james bible, however the print is about an 8point script. It can be a little tough to read. So I decided to check out your sight instead. I can read my bible when not under anxiety and stress. It’s just that when my ptsd kicks in it can be a little tough. Right now I’m just going to try to visit you on an as needed basis. I may follow your site later on. Thanks for the inspiration.
