The LORD detests all the proud of heart. Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished.
Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.
Better to be lowly in spirit along with the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud.
Before a downfall the heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor.
Haughty eyes and a proud heart— the unplowed field of the wicked—produce sin.
The proud and arrogant person—“Mocker” is his name— behaves with insolent fury.
It is not good to eat too much honey, nor is it honorable to search out matters that are too deep.
Do you see a person wise in their own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for them.
Let someone else praise you, and not your own mouth; an outsider, and not your own lips.
Pride brings a person low, but the lowly in spirit gain honor.
In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.
Though the LORD is exalted, he looks kindly on the lowly; though lofty, he sees them from afar.
For by the grace was given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.
Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.
1 Corinthians 13:4
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
But when his heart became arrogant and hardened with pride, he was deposed from his royal throne and stripped of his glory.
Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ. If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves.
